TableHarvest Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
TableHarvest is a Chrome extension that exports tables from web pages to the clipboard, CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and Google Sheets. It was designed so that your data never has to leave your computer.
1. What the extension reads
The extension reads the content of the tables on the page you are viewing only when you ask it to: by clicking the toolbar icon, choosing "Export this table" in the right-click menu, or, if you enable it in Settings, automatically on every page. The table data is processed in your browser to build the preview and the exported file. It is not sent to us or to any third party.
2. What the extension stores
On your device, using Chrome's extension storage, the extension keeps:
- Your preferences: CSV separator, encoding, file name pattern, header and number options.
- If you buy TableHarvest Pro: your license key, its activation status and the date of the last check.
- If you use multi-page capture: the rows collected so far, kept only for the current browser session.
Chrome may sync preferences across your devices if you use Chrome sync. Nothing is stored on our servers; we have none.
3. Network requests
The extension makes no network requests during normal use. The only exception is:
- Polar (api.polar.sh), our payment and licensing provider, when you activate a Pro license key and periodically afterwards to confirm it is still valid. The request contains your license key and a device label such as "Chrome on Windows". Polar's privacy policy applies to the purchase itself: polar.sh/legal/privacy.
"Google Sheets" export copies the table to your clipboard and opens a new, empty spreadsheet in your browser for you to paste into. The extension does not use the Google Sheets API and does not access your Google account.
4. What we do not do
We do not collect browsing history, page content, personal information, analytics or crash reports. We do not use cookies or tracking. We do not sell or share data, because we do not have any. The extension contains no remotely loaded code.
5. Permissions
- activeTab, scripting: to read the tables of the current page after your click.
- contextMenus: the right-click entry.
- storage: preferences and license, stored locally.
- Optional, requested only if you turn the feature on: access to the individual sites where you choose "Always show badges on this site" (never all sites at once), and api.polar.sh (license activation).
6. Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new date. Material changes will be mentioned in the extension's release notes.
